What is Global Learning through Football?

Global Learning through Football (GLF) is a global program in which NGO’s from Germany, Argentina, Rwanda, Brazil, Chile, and Paraguay currently take part. Global Learning through Football cooperates with schools from the above-mentioned countries and works to develop new educational approaches. The common denominator for participants is football. The focus is not just on the game itself, but also on new ways of connecting football and education.

The approach is rooted in the living environments of young participants and focused on the development of their competences and capabilities, as well as sustainable integration of the approach in schools.

The shared love of football worldwide can severe as a bridge between countries and continents. Global Learning through Football offers schools various opportunities to network globally, to exchange knowledge and experiences, and to develop partnerships for global learning.

In all countries, GLF focuses on underprivileged youth who have limited access to education, the labour market, and global learning networks.

Global Learning through Football is the follow-up program of a successful pilot project that was implemented in Germany from 2007 to 2010, supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.
